Capital Plan 2026-2029

Each year MHPSD is required to submit a capital plan to the government as part of a request for funds to improve facilities. Ultimately the capital plan is a funding request; it identifies and prioritizes capital needs for building new schools, modernization and school replacements, so the government can evaluate the most critical projects to fund across the province.
While the plan is approved annually by the MHPSD board, it only becomes a reality when the government allocates the funds to the project. We won’t get a response to the 2026-2029 Capital Plan request until March of 2026, and there is no guarantee that our requests will be funded, often times they are not.
