Self Identification
Families may choose to self identify as Status or Non-Status First Nations, Metis or Inuit on the annual registration form or by contacting the school.
**You do not need a First Nation Status card or Metis Card to self declare.**
MHPSD uses this information to best support programming for all Indigenous students. These programs and supports include liaison support, mentoring of students, professional development for all staff, purchasing and developing of resources, engaging Elders, collaborating with community partners and classroom presentations.
