76 Academy Leadership, Teamwork and Life Skills That Stick | We Grow Together
76 Academy is much more than an athletics program, it is a dynamic learning experience that blends on-ice instruction with classroom learning to support the whole student. Open to students in grades 4–9 across five MHPSD schools, 76 Academy focuses on skill development, leadership, and character-building, all while maintaining strong academic expectations.
Hockey and Ringette players participate in two-hour sessions that combine skating, game tactics, and teamwork with off-ice learning in areas like nutrition, mental wellness, and goal setting. Leading to increased confidence, stronger engagement, and noticeable growth both on and off the ice. It’s about leadership, teamwork, and learning life skills that stick.
Our indoor MHPSD Training Facility is where athletes elevate their skills in a specialized training space. The artificial training ice as well as three full-sized nets with goalie backdrops are designed by our sponsors at Source for Sports as well as the spaces for weight training, plyometrics and stretching. By combining specialized equipment with expert guidance we help players build their skills and gain confidence. Whether players need to enhance their stick handling, shooting, or passing, this professional facility is designed to support development and grow passion for the sport.
- Dryland Training Tile Flooring | Practice stick handling on the BAUER Dryland Training Tile area. A unique surface formula creates a smooth puck handling and shooting surface perfect for simulating that on ice response.
- Stick Handling | Improve on everything from basic puck moves to complex toe-drags with specialized stick handling training tools.
- Shooting | Improve reaction time and accuracy with shooting nets, tarps and targets.
- Passing | Practice passing and rebounds on specialized flooring and rebounder training equipment.
Families have praised the positive environment, affordability, and the way it brings students together through shared goals and experiences. A typical session includes about 30 students, creating a supportive and energetic atmosphere where students are thriving.
